When Are Medals the Right Choice? When Are Trophies?

Medals are portable, lightweight and suited to competitors who receive their award publicly — school competitions, athletics meets, fire brigade exercises, dance tournaments. Worn around the neck or kept in a box, a medal is an intimate award. Engraving on medals starts from €2.90 per piece for orders of 20 or more.

Trophies are representative. They stand on desks, display cases and shelves — a constant reminder of an achievement. They suit team sports, corporate tournaments and annual awards. Trophies with a logo engraving and the current winner’s name are standard at golf clubs, cycling associations and business events. Trophies with engraving start from €18.90.

The Difference Between Standard and Personalised

A standard trophy without engraving costs the same as a personalised one. Engraving adds €2–8 per piece depending on text complexity. For a competition with 30 participants, that is €60–240 for the full set of awards — the difference between an award that ends up in a drawer and one that goes on a shelf.
